Skin Care Tips
Let’s Build a Routine You’ll Love
Think of your skin care routine as consisting of three main steps:
- Cleansing – Washing your face
- Toning – Balancing the skin
- Moisturizing – Hydrating and softening the skin
The goal of any skin care routine is to tune up your complexion so it’s functioning at its best, and also troubleshoot or target any areas you want to work on. Beauty routines are an opportunity to notice changes within yourself. Allow these three steps to become your daily ritual that fortifies your skin and grounds your day.
It is important to build a routine that you can follow every day to keep your skin healthy while looking and feeling great! Haven’t found the right skin care routine for you? Click HERE to have Avon’s Skin Care Adviser select the perfect products just for your skin!
Give it Time
The science behind skin care products has come a long way but there’s no such thing as an instant fix; you need time to reap the benefits. Results are only seen through consistent use. Generally, aim to use a product over at least six weeks, once or twice daily, to notice a difference.
Tip: With any skin care product, apply in order of consistency; from thinnest to thickest. For example; cleanser, toner (if you use it), serum, then moisturizer. Click HERE for more tips on targeted treatments.
Do’s and Don’ts of Skin Care
Speaking of those targeted treatments, it is important to chose those that specifically cater to your concerns. But in addition to knowing how to use these treatments, a little knowledge about the ingredients comes in handy too. Here are those tips again to help you understand the importance of exfoliation, using a daily eye cream, and being sure to have a daily dose of Vitamin C. Ingredient Spotlight
Hyaluronic Acid
When skin is hydrated, it appears firmer, plumper and has a luminous glow. But the ability for skin to hold so much moisture is the key. Enter hyaluronic acid – a skin care ingredient must-have that’s sweeping the beauty industry.
And for good reason.
Hyaluronic acid is a super hydrator that can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. As we age, our body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid slows down. It’s no wonder then that hyaluronic acid has become a key ingredient in gels and serums across beauty brands.
